Every year, on February 2nd thousands of people come to the Gobbler’s Knob farm in Punxsutaway, Pittsburg and wait for the main guests of the festival - Punxsutaway Phil. Traditionally, at 7:30 the animal has to go out of his hole. If Phil, who is awaken during his winter hibernation, goes out of his hole and sees his shadow, there will be still 6 weeks of winter; if not, it will be an early spring.

On Sunday I watched a movie called "The GroudHog Day".

This movie is about a man, Phil Connor, a weatherman for a Pittsburg TV station. He arrives to Punxsutaway, Pittsburg to make a report about the annual Groundhog Day festivity. He doesn`t like this city, but he has to work. When he and his partners were making their trek to Pittsburg, but a blizzard started. So they decided to go back to Punxsutaway for a night. But when Phil woke next morning, it was again February 2nd. At first days he is confused, doesn`t know what to do. Then he understands, that February 2nd repeats again and again, he starts to seduce women, steal money, get drunk, drive recklessly, and get thrown in jail. He even tries to get closer to Rita, his charming producer. Eventually, Phil becomes depressed and tries to stop the time loop; he gives ridiculous and offensive reports on the festival and after that kidnaps Punxsutawney Phil and, after a police chase, drives off a high overlook into a quarry, killing both himself and the groundhog. However, Phil wakes up and finds that nothing has changed. His next attempts of committing a suicide also fail to break, and he continues to find himself waking up at six o'clock on February 2nd. Next day, when Phil explains the situation to Rita, she spends the day with him and into the early morning hours they fall asleep together. However, he awakens again, alone, still in the time loop. Eventually, Phil tries to improve himself. He begins to use his knowledge of the day's events to help as many people around town as he can, and uses the time to learn, for instance, how to play the piano, sculpt ice, and speak French. In the end, Phil becomes a friend almost for everyone he meets during the day, using his experiences to save lives, and to impress Rit. His report on the Groundhog Day celebration is so eloquent that all the other stations turn their microphones to him. After the town's evening dance, Rita "buys" Phil at the event's bachelor auction. Phil makes a snow sculpture of Rita's face and they kiss, then go back to his room. He wakes the next morning and finds the time loop is broken; it is now February 3rd and Rita is still with him. They walk outside and Phil proposes that they move to Punxsutawney together.

I really like this movie because it teches us that every day can be the last in your life and you should do as many good things for people and yourself as possible.

Love… Love…Love

Everybody is talking about love on this day, but in different ways

1) who is in love with a boy(girl), and he thinks that should tell everyone about his relationship. I think, if you`re in love, my congratulations!But please, stop telling EVERY PERSON about it. It`s annoying

2) who is in live, but nobody now that this two are a couple. That`s their secret. They are in their own world full of love and trust. That`s amazing.

3) A person who is single and don`t care about this holiday. He(she) has a usuall day, things he(she) usually does.

4) A person who is single and think that EVERYBODY should know this fact. People from this category are the worst people in the world, I think. They are like energetic vampires, who drinks you energy using bad words about love and this holiday.

Today my group and I attended the Dobrolubov Readings conference.

At the beginning the rector of LUNN said a welcoming speech about the importance of Dobrolubov`s works. Also some guests from Moscow told us about their emotions about NN and LUNN.

Dobrolubov was 25 when he died, but he worked really very hard and became a famous journalist, poet and critic. In 1858 he wrote 75 articles! He always said he wasn`t a poet, but he wrote such a beautiful poems that you can find in his collection of nine books. Another fact about Dobrolubov is that when he was 18 his parents died and he had to bring up seven siblings. He did this job brilliant – all his sisters were married to aristocratic people and all of them were well-educated.

During the conference we heard four presentations. The first one was about Vasily Vinogradov, Dobrolubov`s relative. Honestly? I didn`t remember what was the second presentation about, because it was a little boring. The third one was about The Great Patriotic War. Tatyana Pavlovna Vinogradova showed us a film that was filmed by students about their family during the war. The fourth presentation was about Sergei Dovlatov.

I learned that in 1986 there was The All-Russian industrial and art exhibition in NN.

After the conference there was a concert. The first was a man with a guitar who song two his own songs. Both of them were about his native city – NN. The second one was a choir of eight women. Their voices were amazing. But unfortunately we had to go to the next lecture, so we heard only three songs.

I like this conference because we learned lots of new information about NN and Dobrolubov.

Well, the vacation is over, and I can say that these two weeks were shorter than I expected. I had so many plans, but in fact I did almost nothing. First week I spent with my grandparents in the village. I wanted to read a book for pleasure reading, but I forgot it. So I decided to reread "Gine with the Wind". On Saturday I came back to N.N. and went to the movie theater with my friend. We watched "The Revenant". I love this movie except the moment with the horse. After that we, my friend and I, we were arguing about The Oscar Awards and would Leonardo DiCaprio got it on not. The second week I spent preparing for my English and American Studies exam. I hate this subject, honestly. And I still think that I have to read the text again. I can't say that I feel rested because first week I helped my grandparents and did the cleaning and other house work, and on the second week I was learning. I'm really happy that the second semester has almost started. I missed my teachers and, of course, my groupmates.

Every time after vacation I tell myself "I will spend more time doing necessary things and won't procrastinate" I do it always. Funny, don't you think so? I have lots of opportunities to change my life - I just have to do things at the right time and don't spend time on unnecessary things li Vkontkte or Instagram. Easier said than done. Sometimes I think why I study in the Linguistic University? Because it's my dream. I knew it would be hard, but to the extent. The main goal I have for the next four years is to study harder, learn lots of new information and so on. The main goal for the next two days is to pass my last exam - British and American studies. Almost the last day of my vacation I spent doing my home assigment.
Why I did it today, but not earlier? Don`t even ask, because I didn`t know the answer. It`s fun, don`t you think so?
All my life I did necessery the day before deadline. It`s more interesting because you know that the deadline is tomorrow (for instance), and you have no reason not to do the assigment today ar tonight.

The first week after winter vacation was full of discoveries. It's hard to remember them all but they were amazing. While I was here, in the Linguistic University, I've a lot of new things. I hope my finals wil have good result.

Wow, I can't believe that the end December and the end of 2015 are around the corner. I remember our first class with Ms. Bradshow I've learned so many new things, I met new people. I can say that December was the hardest months in this semester. Pleasure Reading. I have to pass my oral part on Wednesday. I'm s little scared.

The first week of December is over. The only one thing I want to say is that I need to take time off. But it's impossible. I have to work and and work because I want to achieve the main goal- to became a good linguist who in the future will make huge money. On this week we learned some words. P.S. I will never use phrase "feel myself " I promise✋

These three months were the hardest in my life. I realized that I am not as good at English as I was always thinking. Languages play important role of my life. I've learned how to budget my time. Now I do smth for 25 minutes and than have a five-minute break. That's how I try to do my home assignment. I realize that I should be more attentive. The main problem I have is a lack of attention. Step by step I'm trying to manage my inattention. Wish me good luck. My main goals for the last month of 2015? Hmmm… I think to get straight As on my finals. It is the only one thing I really want.

Today is the first day of the week, when we are going to write out Midterm tests. I'm so nervous and excited at the same time. I have to remember all things we learned. So this night is going to be complicated.

Well well well The first month of my studying in the Linguistic University has finished and I want to say something First of all, I'm REALLY HAPPY to study in this university. I can't imagine my life without it. During this month I've never regretted that I'm a student of such gorgeous university even when I was sleeping 5 hours a day. But it was my mistake because I haven't learned yet how to budget my time and I always wasted my time doing unnecessary things. Also I'd like to say that I have the best English teacher EVER!!! I can't find words to discribe her. She is just AMAZING!!! I'll miss you while you'll be in the US

For me it's hard to learn big dialogues or texts. But I'm working on it and trying to learn more and more each time. Today I was crying because of memory. I've learned EVERYTHING but forgot. I'm really angry at myself in such situations

It was the first time I did my home assignment for Monday on Saturday. I was happy and had time for housework. But in the Sunday evening I got the letter from my teacher so I had to do my home assignment again. I hate this feeling when you wanted to do something but your plans are broken down.
