The thirteenth tale by Diane Setterfield is an interesting but tangled book, the reading of which was easy. The plot includes a lot of heroes, all of whom are covered by mysteries. The denoument is rather surprising.
The story includes twins, who are different from single children. They feel each other (even if one of them is dead), speak their language and complete each other. "The line between life and death is narrow and dark, and a bereaved twin lives closer to it than most"
The main heroine, Margaret, lost her unknown twin soon after birth but found this out accidentally. She always feels incomplete because of this and is keen on reading. "There are too many books in the world to read in a single lifetime" She also likes writing biographies of people, who are dead and forgotten. In such a way, Margaret was found by a Vida Winter, famous writer, whose lifestory is unknown. Mrs Winter asks Margaret to write her biography, That`s what book is about.
"A birth is not really a beginning. Our lives at the start are not really our own but only the continuation of someone else`s story "
