What I can say about Czech? It's a slavic language. Latin alphabet is used to write words. But there is one thing, that people who speaks english cannot accept with. Of course I'm writing about diacritics. I met these strange "Á á" "Ř ř" and "Š š". I thought they aren't important, but when I tried to read some phrases I find out that diacritics play an important part in pronunciation. For example carons (ˇ) : "Š š" means "sh", and "Č č" means "ch".
And acute accents ought to make long vowels, like "Á á" => [a:]
