Sub. Mission Dubstep is one of the premiere U.S. dubstep promoters, holding a wide range and scale of events from fantastic weeklies throughout Colorado, to massive events such as Flux Pavilion and Doctor P’s North American Tour, and of course, Decadence NYE 2011.
Decadence offered a delightful array of musical choices across two separate stages, one featuring primarily electro / house / and commercial dance music and the other (the Sub. Mission Dubstep stage) hosting several iconic dubstep and drumstep acts such Flux Pavilion, Cookie Monsta and Dieselboy.
Cookie Monsta took up the reigns about an hour before midnight and instantly commenced his relentlessly filthy old-school dubstep bombardment. One classic track after the next, Cookie demonstrated to the thronging Colorado masses why the early fans of Dubstep are so loyal to the deep, minimal bass, wall-of-sound mentality.
By the time the Flux Pavilion took to the stage, what seemed like every person in attendance had thronged to the Dubstep side of the event. The legend that first introduced Dubstep to the wider North American audience had finally returned, and the crowd could not possibly have been more ecstatic to see his instantly-recognizable presence appear on-stage. A superb DJ, an absolutely brilliant producer, and one of the most powerful figures in the rapidly blossoming dubstep scene today, Flux Pavilion put on a performance that could easily be compared to a sweat-lodge for all the sins of 2011… Incredibly explosive tracks rattled the entirety of the humongous Denver Convention Center as Flux conducted the crowd through several hours of unrelenting, exhausting, and ultimately cleansing dance-mania. Flux knew exactly what the crowd wanted, and that was precisely what he came prepared to offer. With an absolutely flawless set that included many of his most famous tracks, as well as monstrous bangers from names like Skrillex, Bassnectar, Doctor P, and the rapidly rising Brown and Gammon, Flux Pavilion showed Colorado exactly why his name is instantly and directly associated with the word Dubstep. In May of 2012, Flux Pavilion and Downlink will be playing at Red Rocks Amphitheater!
