There are many pros and cons in a democratic regime. Democracy is when the majority decides all. Major plus of democracy is opportunity for citizens to participate in government. The people are the only legitimate source of power. Every citizen can take part in elections, referenda, meetings. Candidates have equal rights in the election campaign. Another plus of democracy is freedom of speech and the press. People protect their political and socio-economic interests with democracy. Democracy means equality of rights of all people in the country. People are free to gather for rallies and marches under a democratic government. Law for all people and no one should break it. But in the majority of countries where democracy is declared, it is only a denominative and inactive. When the population is too large democracy can not work productively. People can bad know candidates whom they choose. This makes it possible to rig the elections. A large number of the population simply do not go to the polls and allow cheaters to throw ballots for the right candidate. There are many ways of breaking the rules of the elections. I think that the government should be democratic, but political parties should be only two, as in America.
