“And…Who are you really?” she asks him in that timid voice of hers.
He sighs.
“I was once a prince.. I was exiled.”
“Exiled?” there’s a touch of empathy in her voice and it makes him shiver. He does not want her pity, nor her sadness.
“I did bad things, Daenerys.”
“But you did them to prove your worth! How can that have you exiled?”
“Wanting to kill a whole race of people? I think that may have been a little too much. In the end….They never trusted me.”
“How can your own family do this to you?
“We live in different worlds, Dany.”
She pinches her lips, looking down. Loki can hear foosteps running towards them.
Viserys makes his entrance, breathing loudly and looking dishevelled.
“Dany, here you are! Come, we must present you to the Khal, he’s finally here!”
Dany looks back at Loki when her brother pulls her away. Loki isn’t looking her way, but she can tell that he has given up trying to change things. It wasn’t the fiery Loki she’d met before. That being was gone, replaced by a shadow made of broken glass.
And it makes her heart break, and she wants to make it right again. She wants the old Loki back.
