Прошло почти 9 месяцев с тех пор, как мне наконец удалось вернуться к проблеме изучения чешского языка.
Сейчас в моем арсенале излюбленный, побитый временем разговорник, тетрадь формата А4 и куча подписок на паблики, способствующие моей деятельности.
С сегодняшнего дня я попытаюсь восстановить ход моей деятельности, дабы иметь определенный багаж знаний к моменту отъезда.

Diacritics

What I can say about Czech? It's a slavic language. Latin alphabet is used to write words. But there is one thing, that people who speaks english cannot accept with. Of course I'm writing about diacritics. I met these strange "Á á" "Ř ř" and "Š š". I thought they aren't important, but when I tried to read some phrases I find out that diacritics play an important part in pronunciation. For example carons (ˇ) : "Š š" means "sh", and "Č č" means "ch".

And acute accents ought to make long vowels, like "Á á" => [a:]

Czech for tourists

Everybody can remember this:

You go abroad on your vacation. You go out of a hotel dreaming about buying some souvenirs, but when you finaly reached a shop you can say nothing except "does anybody here speak english??!!"

So I'm going to travel to Czech Republic and now I must learn by heart some phrases, that can help me at my first-time conversations with citizens of the CR.

They are:

— Mluvíte anglicky? / Do you speak english?

— Je tady někdo kdo mluví anglicky? / Is there anybody here, speaking english?

— Rozuměl(a) jste? / Have you understood it?

— Rozuměl(a) jsem / I've understood it

— To jsem nerozuměl(a) / I haven't understood it.

— Mohl(a) byste mluvit trochu pomaleji, prosím? / Can you speak slowly, please?

— Mohl(a) byste to zopakovat prosím? / Can you repeat it, please?

— Jak se to řekne česky? / How to say it in Czech?

— Co znamená "…" ? / What does "…" mean?

— Mohl(a) byste mi to napsat prosím? / Can you write it for me?

Introducing with the language

So now I'm looking through the phrasebook and first thing you can find out is that there are a lot of word, looking like russian ones. But of course you can be confused by words, only looking this way. They are: "pozor" means attention, "sleva" means discount or "stůl" means table. Btw Czech alphabet has 42 letters and some of them are just the same symbols with a different sounding.

Today I'm trying to learn some greeting phrases, I can use in everyday life.
They are:

- Dobrý den / Good afternoon

— Dobrý večer / Good evening

— Dobrou noc / Good night

— Ahoj / Hi

— Jak se daři? / How are you?

— Jak se máte? / How are you getting on?

— Děkuij, dobře. A vy? / I'm Ok. And you?

— Přeji pěkný den / Have a good day

— Pěkný víkend / Have a good weekend

— Přijemnou cesty domů / Enjoy your getting home

— Je mi líto ale už musím jít / I'm afraid, but I have to come back home

— Na shledanou / Good bye

— Brzy na shledanou / I'm looking forward for our nearest meeting

— Na shledanou zítra / Let's have a meeting tomorrow

Tomorrow I'll write down some needful phrases for tourists

General information

It's everybody known, that nowadays teens from all over the world want to make their lives better, than they are. So what do they do for it? Some of them (or their parents) have enough money to reach their dreams, but other, like me, have to pass through a variety of difficulties.
This note can help me not to miss the light at the end of this journey, called "How to enter Karlov University and to learn up Czech"

I'm just a girl. I'm 17 years old. This year I'll graduate from school. I have a purpose in my life. I'd like to leave Russia and continue studing in the capital of Czech Republic, in the city, called Prague.

I thought it's not so difficult to study abroad, but I faced first problems immediately.I was dreaming about becoming a teacher of English language, but it turned out that all the lectures at my faculty were held in Czech language. By the way I don't know it at all.

But it's just a small problem. Great fail was that I don't have enough money to go abroad right now, so this is why I have to defer entering the university for a one year.
